Filmscreening & Buchrelease Erika Runge "Reflections Upon Saying Farewell to Documentary Literature"

The exhibition "A cold case or happiness" which took place at Halle für Kunst Lüneburg this summer procedes in the publication "HAFI 020: Erika Runge: Überlegungen beim Abschied von der Dokumentarliteratur / Reflections Upon Saying Farewell to Documentary Literature," which is coedited by the Harun Farocki Institut (HaFI) and the Cluster of Excellence "Temporal Communities. Doing Literature in a Global Perspective" at Freie Universität Berlin. On the initiative of titre provisoire, the essay "Reflections Upon Saying Farewell to Documentary Literature" (1976) by German writer and filmmaker Erika Runge has been translated into English. The essay is accompanied by a commentary by Regine Ehleiter (EXC 2020 "Temporal Communities") and a conversation between Clio Nicastro (HaFI board) and titre provisoire.

The publication launch is part of the event "Erika Runge und das systemsprengende Potenzial des Glücksanspruchs. Screenings und Gespräche" at the Cluster of Excellence "Temporal Communities" at Freie Universität Berlin and is organized by Regine Ehleiter together with Florian Fuchs and Till Kadritzke.

The screenings of "Warum ist Frau B. glücklich?" (1968) by Erika Runge  and "A cold case or happiness" (2023) by titre provisoire will be accompanied by contributions by Ann-Kathrin Eickhoff, Sarah Ralfs, Bettina Runge, Clio Nicastro, titre provisoire, Sebastian Tränkle and others.
