CLOSING WITH PERFORMATIVE OFFERINGS BY GOSIA LEHMANN & VALERIAN BLOS

SUBSTANCE OF POWER: WHITE GOLD

Event   May 23, 2026, 17:00 – 19:00

Taking Lüneburg’s natural resources as its starting point, the exhibition UNDER/CURRENTS traces how raw materials circulate, how they infiltrate biological systems, and how economic power relations crystallise around them—in which we are all inevitably implicated.

The extraction and circulation of raw materials not only leave ecological footprints, but also affect social fabrics and political dynamics. Artists GOSIA LEHMANN and VALERIAN BLOS demonstrate how these powerful substances influence our daily routines and environments. To mark the end of the exhibition, they host a performative dinner with a special ingredient—“white gold”.

The group exhibition UNDER/CURRENTS brings together works by EDA ASLAN, GOSIA LEHMANN & VALERIAN BLOS.

The event is held in cooperation with Stiftung Leben & Umwelt / Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Niedersachsen.

The annual programme at Halle für Kunst Lüneburg e.V. is funded by the Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony, Lüneburgischer Landschaftsverband, and Hansestadt Lüneburg.
